A trip to Notting Hill

It is still cold here in London and most of the fashion elite have moved on to Autumn 2013. However Spring is beginning to blossom in the shop windows. I had a wander round Notting Hill, a great London shopping area, last Friday. It was refreshing to see light colours and softer fabrics after months of heavy wool, boots, scarves and hats. I have still not really started to plan my Spring/Summer wardrobe, somehow I do not feel very enthused while still clad in winter thermals. I did however experience a frisson of inspiration when I saw the brighter colours and fluid shapes in the windows.  I loved the MaxMara windows and will probably stick to my tried and tested formula of navy and white/cream with touches of brighter colours here and there when I finally get round to wardrobe planning.

If you are on a slim budget NottingHill has a fantastic consignment shop packed full of designer items - Good for Mary Portas her shops are proving a success.

My favourite window was Emma Hope shoes

Helmut Lang was gorgeous if a bit out of my price range

Wall-London - Great mid season sweater. Light and fluid

Wall-London - Simple navy dress with orange accent necklace

Wall-London - Lots of brights around

Wall-London - I am not great with wearing orange but it can be a good accent colour in moderation
Wall-London Their fabrics are excellent quality, they do larger sizes and also ship worldwide. Watch this space coupon offer arriving shortly.

Thank you for reading. I really love to hear from you and appreciate the time you take to leave comments.

So good to see the lovely beginnings of spring, although the chill and the wind make it seem far away.

According to Neiman Marcus here in the US, orange is the new beige for spring. Next time I'm in London I'm contacting you for where to do my shopping. Thanks.
